#2 - Create A Memory That’s Worth Remembering
Andre Agassi - world’s number one tennis player - had always been performing at his peak. However, for some reasons, he started to go into a slump and began to lose focus on what he has been doing.
He kept missing the ball and making wrong moves. Nothing seemed to be in order. As a result, he lost his confidence and his performance started to drop.
Finally, he had decided to do something about his dropping performance. He consulted the world’s top motivational speaker - Anthony Robbins - on how he could go back to perform at his peak.
Anthony Robbins explained to him that the reason why he started to drop in terms of his performance is because he was not in the same resourceful states he was in.
In other words, he was not in the same mood of performance.
What Anthony Robbins then did was, he got Andre Agassi to watch videotapes of the matches he won in the past. As he watched, he realised that the way he played was very different compared to the way he presently carried himself on the tennis courts.
In the past, his posture was different, the way he looked was different, and the way he breathed was also different. If you want to learn how to you can do the same, you can try this ebook ‘Success With NLP‘ by Adam Khoo.
He started to notice where he went wrong and went back to where he carried himself again. He finally regained his confidence, continued to play at his peak performance and won the US Open champion within six months.
So why am I telling you this?
Creating a memory that is worth remembering is extremely important. Of course it is great to have plans, visions, goals and a very clear direction of where you or you want your organisation to go.
However, the real deal comes when the going gets tough. Throughout the journey, things don’t usually go well like the way we want to. In fact, most of the time our plans won’t work.
So when a plan fails and the going gets tough, what do you do? When you don’t seem to have enough strength to move on, what do you do? Is there still a way to get the tough going?
Yes, there is. It is through the destiny defining moment you had in the past. I am sure each and everyone of you had the glorifying moment of yourself where you were the champion in that particular field.
For example, it could be your moment when you got number one in your class, or you won the champion of the beauty pageant during your high school.
When there is a time where you feel really discouraged and cannot seem to move on, you bring your mind back to your glorifying moment.
For me, I always remind myself as a winner because I beat millions of sperms before I was born. I was already a winner before even I came into this world.
If you had that kind of moment, you can bring it back and it will keep you get the tough going.
So guys, create a memory that is worth remembering!
